Since Friday of this week is officially the start of the Christmas shopping season, I found the article, $399 IPads At T.J. Maxx: Black Friday Alert , very fitting.
This article is about the rumor that iPads will be available at T.J. Maxx for $399 on Black Friday. I found it interesting that the iPad is the fastest selling electronic device EVER! So I wonder, how is it possible for T.J. Maxx to do this? It seems that Apple would have control over how much their products are sold at each retailer. Also, if the demand for iPads is so high, how did the product get to T.J. Maxx in the first place?
The article does say that Apple usually offers 25 to 30 percent off of Macs and iPods during the Christmas season, inferring that you may be able to get a better deal at the Apple store.
Such a rumor does sound like it’s got something to it… In spite of the iPad’s success when it first appeared on the market (and by saying first I mean exactly that), it now has got a bunch of rivals to fight off.
ReplyDeleteAlmost every major vendor decided to present a tablet computer of its own and now the iPad has to really fight for the right to remain on top. So, by all means – even if that includes all kinds of rumors, especially around the Holiday season, the company should keep doing that to keep the place of its product secured, if that’s possible , of course, considering the variety of identical products on the market, as well as how competitive the markets are nowadays.
Being a MAC user, I feel as though they typically have very high control of who sells their product...and typically, there is a contract involved with a price minimum. I feel as though this rumor is either fake or may have some kind of catch attached to it. The product is a hot item for Apple right now, meaning that they will probably not sell it for anything less than a premium. I also think that Apple tends to shy away from using their product to drive sales for another retailer. I feel as though if it is true, it may not be something that Apple has signed off on and could be sketch at best.
